Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)

What is WIC?

WIC, also known as the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children, functions as a nutrition program for pregnant women, breastfeeding women, and families with children younger than 5. In Nebraska, WIC assists approximately 35,000 individuals across a network of more than 100 clinic sites.


Who Can Apply?

  • Pregnant women
  • Breastfeeding women
  • New mothers
  • Infants
  • Children—up to age 5
  • Foster children—up to age 5

How Do I Apply?

  1. Find a WIC clinic near you in Sarpy and Cass County 
  2. Call a clinic and make an appointment
  3. Bring proof of identification, address, and income to your WIC appointment

First Monday of each month 10:00 a.m. - 4:45 p.m. Herald Hall (next to St. Luke's Episcopal Church) 3rd and Avenue A, Plattsmouth
