Safe Kids Sarpy/Cass is dedicated to protecting children from preventable, unintentional injuries. Because these incidents often occur in predictable ways, our coalition works alongside community partners and local organizations to help families across Sarpy and Cass counties adopt life-saving safety practices.
What We Offer
- Adult Education: Classes in home safety and child passenger safety.
- Youth Programs: Injury prevention education tailored for ages 3–19.
- Community Outreach: Public health educators available to present safety information upon request.
Car Seat Installation Appointments
Installing a car seat can be challenging, and each manufacturer provides specific instructions for proper use. Vehicle makers also have their own guidelines on safe installation. Because every family’s situation is unique—different car seats, vehicles, and child needs—the Sarpy/Cass Health Department offers limited one-on-one appointments to help parents and caregivers learn how to correctly install and use their car seats.
Appointments with our certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians typically last 45 minutes to one hour per car seat.
If you would like to schedule an appointment, or if you are a Sarpy or Cass County resident in need of a grant-funded car seat, please email the health department.
